*** Andy Steere's Alfa Corsair Build ***

These pictures show the Alfa Corsair during assembly.

Items used:

  • Model Motors Mini-AC 1215/16 Brushless motor
  • Castle Creations Phoenix 25amp Brushless ESC
  • MPJet 3.5:1 gearbox with a few cooling holes drilled.
  • APC 8x8 Thin-E Prop
  • Tanic 1500 and 1550 3S Lipo batteries.
  • 30amp Anderson connectors on battery side.
  • GWS Heatsink (had to be opened up a little bit)
  • Hitec 555 RX (JR shift)
  • Azarr M72-G Micro Receiver Antenna
  • Hitec HS-55 servos.

This combination draws 16amps (~160watts input) and spins the 8x8 nearly 9000 rpm. Most flights should be at half throttle or so, with a few high-speed passes mixed in.
