MOVIE CLIPS

(Choose a format to view by clicking on one of the two links provided. The native format for the video camera (Olympus C-700UZ) is Apple Quicktime MOV. This version will produce the best picture and sound possible, but the file sizes are large. The Microsoft AVI files were converted using Lead Multimedia Converter and while much smaller... their image quality suffers (a lot on some movies, very little on others). If you have trouble viewing these by directly clicking on the link, try right-clicking on the link, choose save to disk, and play the video ouside the browser. The MOV files require Apple Quicktime player or plugin, and the AVI files require Microsoft Windows Media Player or similar. The AVI files are converted using an Indeo video codec, if you have trouble viewing the video.)

Taxi test before first flight. Not much throttle is needed to taxi, but it will easily idle low enough to sit still in the grass... and maybe low enough for pavement. Ignore my heavy breathing... I'm a bit nervous.
320x240 - 15 seconds - (AVI 2.3MB) (MOV 4.0MB)

Take off of First Flight!!! Flying great! Only needed a couple clicks of trim for hands off flight.
160x120 - 45 seconds - (AVI 0.8MB) (MOV 3.9MB)

First flight, just getting used to it. Carb adjustment needles were left at 1.5 turns on both... factory defaults. Rich on the low side... but pretty decent overall. I needed to reduce the amount of expo on the elevator a little... it was a little mushy in the center on low rates. I don't know why I'm shaking... You think maybe it's the amount of money I have tied up in it??
160x120 - 45 seconds - (AVI 0.8MB) (MOV 4.0MB)

09/07/2003 - Really nice day at the field. 80F, and light winds. This is the takeoff run for flight #4. Flights #2 and #3 were flown by me. Barely need half throttle for solid takeoffs. The holographc vinyl added to the wingtips really flash in the sunshine. Very cool.
320x240 - 15 seconds - (AVI 0.8MB) (MOV 3.9MB)

09/07/2003 - A couple snap rolls. Still real rich on the low side.
320x240 - 15 seconds - (AVI 0.8MB) (MOV 3.9MB)

09/07/2003 - Knife-edge pass into a knife-edge circle.
320x240 - 15 seconds - (AVI 0.8MB) (MOV 3.9MB)

09/07/2003 - A slow roll low down the runway.
320x240 - 15 seconds - (AVI 0.8MB) (MOV 3.9MB)

09/07/2003 - A stall turn. Just messing around with it now.
320x240 - 15 seconds - (AVI 0.8MB) (MOV 3.9MB)

09/07/2003 - A "Show Pass" slow down the runway... throttle is barely above idle. Still rich.
320x240 - 15 seconds - (AVI 0.8MB) (MOV 3.9MB)

09/07/2003 - An inverted flat spin. The model sinks very slowly with some throttle applied.
320x240 - 15 seconds - (AVI 0.8MB) (MOV 3.9MB)

09/10/2003 - Take off run of a late evening flight. 85F and a 10mph south wind.
320x240 - 15 seconds - (AVI 0.8MB) (MOV 3.9MB)

11/16/2003 - Nice late afternoon in mid-November. About 60F, cloudy, with fog rolling in just before dark. This is Carl practicing a slow roll.
320x240 - 15 seconds - (AVI 0.8MB) (MOV 3.9MB)

11/16/2003 - Carl doing a slow roll, into a half cuban-8.
320x240 - 15 seconds - (AVI 0.8MB) (MOV 3.9MB)

11/16/2003 - An inverted flat spin. Engine throttled up some to slow the decent, but it makes the spin less than flat.
320x240 - 15 seconds - (AVI 0.8MB) (MOV 3.9MB)

11/16/2003 - Another inverted flat spin. Other airplane that passes by looks almost a mid-air, but is really a much smaller model that is at least 100 feet in front of the Edge. The full zoom (10x) of the camera tends to compress the space. Also makes the trees in the background look WAY closer than they really are.
320x240 - 15 seconds - (AVI 0.8MB) (MOV 3.9MB)

11/16/2003 - Time for landing. Another great flight! I had originally intended this Edge to be a transition airplane to get me through the 2003 season, but this thing is so awesome there is no way I'm getting rid of it!!!
320x240 - 15 seconds - (AVI 0.8MB) (MOV 3.9MB)
