These pictures show the installation (refit) of a ZDZ 40 RV-L into a Pacific Aeromodels Gee Bee model Y ARF.

These pictures are in general chronological order as the refit progressed, starting with the earliest on the top (Late Winter of 2002/2003).

1600 / 1024 / 640 - Remove Choke servo, reinstall tank.

1600 / 1024 / 640 - painted choke lever.

1600 / 1024 / 640 - Added straws to access needles.

1600 / 1024 / 640 - no removing cowl for carb adjust!

1600 / 1024 / 640 - Test fit dummy radial, may replace.

1600 / 1024 / 640 - Mount igntion and battery.

1600 / 1024 / 640 - Cowl mounted!

1600 / 1024 / 640 - Install Propeller

1600 / 1024 / 640 - 4.5" ground clearance with 20x10

1600 / 1024 / 640 - Just about Ready!

1600 / 1024 / 640 - Test balance.

1600 / 1024 / 640 - Out at field testing engine.

1600 / 1024 / 640 - won't run right...

1600 / 1024 / 640 - back home to find out why.

1600 / 1024 / 640 - Won't draw fuel very well...

1600 / 1024 / 640 - carb installed wrong???

1600 / 1024 / 640 - port is open to air,

1600 / 1024 / 640 - surprised it ran at all.

1600 / 1024 / 640 - Reinstall seemingly correctly.

1600 / 1024 / 640 - Put engine back on mount.

1600 / 1024 / 640 - Re-plumbed the fuel tank,

1600 / 1024 / 640 - just for good measure.

1600 / 1024 / 640 - battery back as far as reachable.

1600 / 1024 / 640 - and still needed 2.5oz...

1600 / 1024 / 640 - in the tail to balance! :-(
