MOVIE CLIPS

(Choose a format to view by clicking on one of the two links provided. The native format for the video camera (Olympus C-700UZ) is Apple Quicktime MOV. This version will produce the best picture and sound possible, but the file sizes are large. The Microsoft AVI files were converted using Lead Multimedia Converter and while much smaller... their image quality suffers (a lot on some movies, very little on others). If you have trouble viewing these by directly clicking on the link, try right-clicking on the link, choose save to disk, and play the video ouside the browser. The MOV files require Apple Quicktime player or plugin, and the AVI files require Microsoft Windows Media Player or similar. The AVI files are converted using an Indeo video codec, if you have trouble viewing the video.)

08/22/2004 - Launch of First Flight! Jeff Paul was my official launcher, as he has done a great job on most of the 28 flights I have on my Corsair. Carl Johnson is the very capable test pilot... and I'm manning the camera. Launch occured at about 75% throttle, which works out to about 125 watts of power.

Getting it trimmed out. Several beeps of down trim... one beep of left aileron.

A "Show Pass" down the runway. I lost it for a second. It is a bit nose heavy, which we will correct.

Pretty fast, even at 75% throttle. Gets small in a hurry... especially on a cloudy day.

08/29/2004 - Third flight. First attempt at ROG (rise off grass) takeoff. The directions indicated it would take off by itself, so after skimming along the ground with no takeoff... I backed off the throttle. May try going ahead and giving it some up elevator after it gets up to speed. I'm on the transmitter and fellow member Jeff Paul is manning the camera.

A full throttle pass down the runway. Hard to follow with the camera.

Most of the flight was at 50-75% throttle. This is a pass at that speed. Still pretty quick.
