These are pictures and movies of the Lanier Razor in flight... and will get updated from time to time. In order from oldest to newest, top to bottom.

06/23/2004 - First taxi test.
160x120 - 34 seconds - (AVI 2.2MB) (MOV 2.4MB)
Take-off of First Flight! Model rolled left some on takeoff... needed a bit of trim... but mainly was heavy on the left-wingtip. Friend Jeff Paul manned the camera.
160x120 - 28 seconds - (AVI 0.9MB) (MOV 1.9MB)
Still trying to get it trimmed out... despite the lateral balance problem. 1st flight ended with a deadstick (empty battery), but I got it back ok. We hadn't charged the battery after two trips to the field to do range testing... and the taxi test.
160x120 - 62 seconds - (AVI 1.6MB) (MOV 4.1MB)
06/25/2004 - 2nd flight. Back with fully charged batteries. This is the take off run... which was done more agressivly than the first flight (lots of power). Kept it pretty high up there... just in case. Carl was there as my spotter.
160x120 - 55 seconds - (AVI 1.5MB) (MOV 3.7MB)
Flying well enough to bring it down a little. Jeff's kids were there, talking in the background.
160x120 - 62 seconds - (AVI 1.5MB) (MOV 4.1MB)
Another clip of flight#2. About half way through it. Clip cut short because I went vertical and Jeff lost sight of me.
160x120 - 28 seconds - (AVI 0.6MB) (MOV 1.4MB)
Tried a knife edge at the beginning of this clip... aborted it though because the rudder is very
effective and I over-controlled it. Second knife-edge attempt went much better. There is some roll
coupling with the rudder. Jeff's kids are particularly vocal in this clip, sorry! I should have landed
after this pass... didn't realize how quickly the power dropped off as the battery drained.
320x240 - 15 seconds - (AVI 0.8MB) (MOV 3.9MB)
Deadstick landing that was nearly disastrous. I was basically dead coming down the runway on the
upwind pass... but the prop was free-wheeling enough that I didn't notice until too late. The Razor doesn't
have very a good non-powered glide rate... especially at over 6 pounds. I ran it out of airspeed... it got
squirrelly and basically fell out of the sky. I managed to get it leveled out just before impact... with
only easily repaired damage to the gear mounting plate. I was very lucky! This was
after about 10 minutes of throttle-managed flight. I will set my timer for 7:30 and will land when it
goes off. Kind of disappointed with the short flight times and the lack of gliding. Going to have to
watch getting slow with this one.
160x120 - 22 seconds - (AVI 1.4MB) (MOV 1.5MB)
07/08/2004 - Take off of flight three, after landing gear repairs. Changed to an APC 15x10 to
try and lower current and extend flight times. Helped a little, but not much... flights are still short.
320x240 - 15 seconds - (AVI 1.3MB) (MOV 3.9MB)
One high-speed pass, then a half-throttle pass.
160x120 - 62 seconds - (AVI 1.5MB) (MOV 4.0MB)
Half throttle or a little more for most of this flight. Little beeps every minute are from
my JR transmitter reminding me of the time. A full throttle pass close to the end, to get a good
recording of the sound this model makes. VERY COOL! Sounds more like a full scale than about any
prop-driven plane I've heard. Model is quite fast with the 15x10 at full throttle. This would be
a decent "Pattern prop".
160x120 - 62 seconds - (AVI 1.5MB) (MOV 4.1MB)
Decided to land it after 6 minutes... just to be careful. Kept the speed up, cause it slows
down fast. Model pulls to the right when landing... needs a bit of rudder trim adjustment.
160x120 - 62 seconds - (AVI 2.5MB) (MOV 4.2MB)
