(in Nebraska)
Once again we found ourselves enjoying the calm cool breezes at Tecumseh, Nebraska this year at the 2001 Missouri Valley Jet Scramble, August 4th and 5th. According to Ward Neesen, the weather was a cool 72 degrees all weekend long.... hmm.. funny the bank clock in the first picture below must be broken, since it doesn't seem to be reading 72.....
Since Friday was a bit warm (ahhem..) and and a strong cross wind was kicking up mid afternoon, Jerry and I took a couple hours off and went 50 miles north, and visited the Strategic Air Command Museum (SAC). For me it was a wonderful opurtunity to get many great documentation shots of a Blackbird at angles I've never been able to get before. The cockpit shot is a B52, if memory serves correctly.

Anyhow, after our little side trip, we went on to enjoy a great weekend of jet flying -- 9 jet flights, and an empty kerosene jug :-) . Below are a few shots from the weekend. The top 3 shots are of Ron Colbert's new Balsa Bandit, and the 'Sport Turbine' award he received due to his efforts. The couple engine shots are of a homebuilt unit that was there. Also below, are a couple shots of Kevin Barr's F-15, along with mine. We had a great time, and look foward to next year's show.
